The Mark Twain Dinette is located in the heart of historic downtown Hannibal. Enjoy all that downtown has to offer from Mark Twain’s Boyhood Home, the Mississippi Riverfront, local parks and trails, and more. When you’ve worked up an appetite stop by for some of our homemade Root Beer, famous fried chicken, burgers, shakes, Maid-Rites, and more. Brunch is served on Saturday and Sunday from 10am-3pm. Our menu also features vegans and vegetarian meals, gluten-friendly options, and plenty of choices for health conscious individuals.

The Mark Twain Dinette has been serving Hannibal, MO for 77 years since in was opened by Mr. Pennewell on February 2nd, 1942. The original building was a pre-made, steel Valentine diner. The building has grown over the past 77 years, but is still located at the same location of Hill and 3rd St. The restaurant has been in the Bogue Family for almost 35 years. Jody Bogue is our newest owner and is committed to preserving the Dinette classics you know and love: Maid-Rites, Tenderloins, Fried Chicken, famous Onion Rings, and our homemade Root Beer.
